I recently learned of Mr. Lawrence's passing while home visiting. Mr. LaGeone truly inspired and impacted my life to minor in Spanish and study abroad in multiple countries. He was also a member of Vashon alumni club with my grandparents and I loved running into him after college at their holiday party! Truly an amazing teacher, person, and leader of the community! Very sad for his passing, but very grateful for his presence in my development years! I send my condolences to the family.

I knew John LaGrone for over 65 years: high school together; college together; post college together. John was a great friend, family man, and person. A giant of an activist. The world has a great one.

My deepest condolences to everyone that knew and loved Senor LaGrone. He was my Spanish Teacher at Brittany Woods Middle School and University City High School both in the University City School District. Senor LaGrone was always happy and jolly, but he didn't tolerate any nonsense and he commanded respect and excellence. Slumber in Peace and Job well done.
